When Do California Bar Exam Results Come Out?
The State Bar of California says July 2026 California Bar Exam results are scheduled for Oct. 30, 2026, through the Applicant Portal "no later than 4:00 p.m." The exact time will be announced later.
The California pass list goes out in two phases. Applicants can search it starting Oct. 30 at 4 p.m. Pacific using their applicant and file numbers, and the public can search it beginning Monday, Nov. 2, 2026, at 8 a.m. Pacific.
When Will NY Bar Exam Results for July 2026 Be Released?
The New York State Board of Law Examiners had not posted a release date for the July 28-29, 2026, exam as of Oct. 22.
For context only, New York posted July 2025 results on Oct. 23, 2025, to candidate accounts in its Applicant Services Portal, with a public pass list the next day. The board has not said whether 2026 will follow that schedule.
DC, NJ and Michigan Bar Exam Results
The D.C. Court of Appeals Committee on Admissions says July 2026 results will post to applicant accounts Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, by noon Eastern. Results roll out gradually rather than all at once.
The New Jersey Board of Bar Examiners had not announced a July 2026 date. Its deadlines page puts the reapplication deadline for July takers about 15 business days after results are released, "circa mid-November."
Michigan had no July 2026 date on NCBE's tracker, and we could not find an announcement from the Michigan Board of Law Examiners.

NCBE notes that a make-up exam was held Sept. 1-2 for applicants affected by the cancellation of Washington's July 2026 NextGen administration.
How Did Oregon's First NextGen Bar Exam Go?
The NextGen Uniform Bar Exam is NCBE's redesigned bar exam. It tests foundational lawyering skills and legal concepts through multiple-choice questions, integrated question sets and performance tasks, and reports one score on a 500-750 scale, according to NCBE's NextGen page. NCBE says most jurisdictions will switch to it between July 2026 and July 2028.
Oregon gave the NextGen exam in July 2026. The Oregon State Bar's results page reports an 80.2% overall pass rate: 304 of 338 first-time takers passed (90%), as did 40 of 91 repeat takers (44%). Oregon held its admission ceremony on Oct. 22, 2026.
NCBE warns that NextGen and legacy UBE scores are on different scales. New York says it will not accept NextGen transfer scores from any NextGen exam given before July 2028.
